“What if you could love even the darkest parts of yourself?”

Do you find it hard to feel at ease in your body and mind? Do you feel stuck in patterns that are not working for you, but not sure why they’re happening or how to change them?

You’re not alone in feeling this way. If you have endured chaotic experiences at any point in your life, you may now struggle to feel safe in everyday situations. You don’t need to have a near death experience or witness extreme violence to suffer from the impact of trauma.

I can help you move towards a version of your life where emotional and physical discomfort no longer dictate your decisions.

    Meet Nicole Maselli, LMHC,
    Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and I provide therapy to adults who live in New York City and throughout New York state. I have experience helping people overcome traumatic experiences that are creating anxiety, depression, and relationship issues in the present.

Whether diagnosed with PTSD or not, I support folks in healing from traumas including childhood physical and/or emotional neglect, death of a loved one, sexual abuse, assault, bullying, war and political violence, narcissistic relationships, life-changing medical diagnoses, systemic oppression, and more.

I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is a treatment that, similar to EMDR, helps change the way traumatic memories affect you. It can also address ongoing behaviors in your daily life that may not be connected to a specific past experience, such as social anxiety and low self-esteem.

I also offer Psychedelic Integration therapy , which involves supporting you before and/or after an experience with psychedelic medicine. Preparation and integration helps you make sense of new insights, and transfer that knowledge into your daily life – facilitating deeper awareness and more meaningful, long-lasting outcomes. You can learn more about psychedelic integration here.

My therapeutic approach is holistic and creative, which will allow us to honor you in all of your complexity – mind, body, and spirit. I integrate concepts from Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness-based therapies, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Existential Psychotherapy, and Psychodynamic therapies to create a healing space dedicated to your wonderful, unique self.

I aim to always provide therapy that is affirming of all identities and cultural backgrounds, and promotes your autonomy through a strength-based, harm reduction framework.

Although our work will be guided by your goals, I aim to help all clients:

    • Find attunement with your physical body
    • Expand your capacity to tolerate discomfort
    • Enhance your toolbox of coping skills
    • Shift from shame and self-criticism to curiosity and self-compassion
    • Feel empowered through understanding the “why” behind your behaviors

You deserve to feel supported and seen in your wholeness. I look forward to learning about your journey, and the opportunity to walk alongside you as you create the next chapter of your story. You can take the next step by booking a complimentary 30-minute phone consultation with me.

    TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Are you ready to grow and expand into the life you want?

    MY THERAPY STYLE

Through experience, I have found that the type of clients that resonate with me the most are those that feel some level of readiness to do deep, transformative work. I enjoy working with clients who may feel scared about taking those first baby steps for changing their life, but move towards healing anyways.

You don’t know what you might be able to accomplish, uncover, and resolve unless you try! And the best part about therapy is that it is designed with your needs in mind. We will go at a pace that works for you, and I will consistently check in to make sure you are benefitting from our sessions.

I am committed to continuously learning outside of the therapy room about individuals with different identities than me. That being said, no matter how much I educate myself, I aim to maintain a beginner’s mind towards conversations about diversity and culture. The goal of this mindset is to address my blindspots rather than ignore them, and encourage conversation about our identities rather than pretend they don’t matter.

When I remember that suffering is a universal component of human existence, I can tap into the connection that comes from shared experience. Empathy is easily accessed with the simple reminder to self that beneath many “problematic” behaviors witnessed by outside observers, is emotional pain – perhaps well concealed, but certainly deeply felt.
