“Healing happens through reparative relationships–between therapist and client, with loved ones, and ultimately, with ourselves.”

Are you noticing that past events or relationships are holding you back?  Do you find yourself holding beliefs about yourself and the world that are limiting?  Are you struggling to set boundaries or to get your needs met in relationships?

In our work together, we will collaborate to create a safe and human relationship. We will work on increasing insight into your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and story. We will support you to make adaptive meaning of your life and to empower you to relate to yourself and others in more helpful ways so that you can find more peace with the human experience and access more moments of connection, joy, and meaning.

    Meet Eliza Chamblin, LCSW,
    LICENSED PSYCHOTHERAPIST

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works with adults in New York City and throughout New York State. I specialize in working with adults with a history of trauma in their childhood or who are feeling stuck in a relationship–with themselves, a parent, a sibling, a partner, a colleague, or a friend.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and draws from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Schema Therapy, and mindfulness techniques. I practice anti-racist and LGBTQ+-affirming therapy. Therapy is a space for you, so know that I welcome collaboration.

Working from the basis of the safe relationship that we build, you can expect to:

    • Process and make adaptive meaning of trauma
    • Set helpful boundaries, including with your family of origin
    • Learn to speak to and treat yourself more kindly
    • Assert your needs to create more fulfilling relationships
    • Accept and welcome feelings as teachers
    • Release yourself from shame

I look forward to the privilege of learning your story and witnessing your growth. Reach out for a complimentary consultation today.

    TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Are you ready to grow and expand into the life you want?

    MY THERAPY STYLE

It is one of the great privileges of my life to bear witness to each client’s story. While helping others, I also learn and grow immensely from the resilience and strength of my clients.

If they are showing up, noticing new things about themselves and their lives, engaging with difficult questions, making changes, receiving different feedback, feeling more/ differently/better, and/or feel like they’re benefiting.

With transparency and openness. It is my responsibility to name differences and make space to talk about them and their unique impact for each client.

I recognize the privilege and socio-cultural impact of my visual identity as a white woman and look forward to exploring its intersection with each client’s own intersectional identities if that feels important and interesting to the client.
