Rise & Reset: Gentle Morning Yoga

Join our 6-week virtual group series.

Ease Into Your Day with Care

Begin your day with intention, not urgency. Rise & Reset is a fresh, grounding way to start your morning, offering gentle, trauma-informed yoga to help you reconnect with your breath, body, and sense of safety before the world asks anything of you.

Led by a trauma-informed practitioner, Dr. Jessa Navide, this 75-minute class combines mindful movement, breathwork, and compassionate presence. It’s a space to soften, recalibrate, and remind your body that it’s safe to take up space, whether you’re healing from stress, trauma, or simply navigating a busy life.

You don’t need to be flexible or experienced, just willing to meet yourself kindly. Camera optional. All bodies and all levels welcome.

Is this Transformative Yoga Series Right for You?

These sessions are meant to help you tune into your body and breath, build a sense of steadiness, and make choices that feel right for you without needing to dive into deep emotional processing. No yoga experience is necessary; classes are welcoming to both beginners and longtime practitioners alike.

This series may be a good fit if you’re:

    • An adult (18+) experiencing anxiety, low mood, or chronic stress

    • Feeling disconnected from your body or constantly “on”

    • Carrying the lingering effects of past trauma or overwhelm

    • Curious about using yoga or mindfulness to feel more grounded

    • Looking for gentle, body-based support alongside individual therapy

    • Prefer virtual sessions you can do from home

Inside the Flow: How Our Weekly Virtual Groups are Designed

Each 75-minute session offers a thoughtful blend of gentle movement and emotional support, guided by a trauma-informed mental health professional and certified yoga instructor.

20 Minutes of Psychoeducation: You’ll learn about themes that support wellbeing, as well as practical application and learning in the session with professional guidance. Participants may be invited to share at the end of each class how they relate to the presented theme or skill in the present moment. However, participants won’t be asked to share personal experiences, nor revisit the past.

15 Minutes Optional Processing (at the end): Group members are welcome to stay for a brief, optional conversation to reflect on their experience and share insights or feelings that arose during the session, if they choose.

Everything You Need to Know: Yoga Group FAQs

What is trauma-informed yoga?

Trauma-informed yoga is a gentle and intentional approach to movement that supports anyone who has experienced stress, overwhelm, or painful life events, whether from a single incident or the kind of slow-building experiences that wear on you over time. It’s designed to help you reconnect with your body in a way that feels safe, supportive, and empowering, no matter what your past holds. It focuses on creating a compassionate and supportive environment where participants can deepen their connection to their bodies. The sequence is consistent and predictable, providing a safe way to begin shifting awareness inward to the breath and body sensation.

Key elements of the practice include:

1) Creating a predictable environment to support going inward and attuning to body needs
2) Offering options and encouraging people to choose what is most in alignment with their unique needs;
3) Using invitational and strength-based language encouraging individuals to reclaim their sense of agency; and
4) Developing body awareness by noticing sensations without judgment.

Who is this group for? Who is it not for?

This group is for adults 18 and older who want to connect with their bodies through breath awareness, body sensations, and mindful movement. It’s ideal for those interested in a gentle, mindfulness-based, movement practice. This group is not for those seeking a traditional therapy process group focused on discussing or sharing traumatic experiences.

What do I need to participate in this group?

This group will take place virtually over Zoom in the comfort of your home. We suggest having a yoga mat or a soft ground covering such as a towel or other material with good grip. Optional items you may like to have include but are not limited to: a blanket, a pillow, a block/stack of books, a small towel, and water. You are welcome to dress in a way that feels most supportive of a gentle movement practice. We suggest choosing a location in your home that feels most comfortable for you to be moving or mindfully resting.

Do I have to keep my camera on?

Throughout the group you have the option to keep your camera on or off.

Is this covered by insurance?

This group is not a medical/psychotherapy group, so you will not be able to bill insurance.

What does each group look like?

Each group will include 40 minutes of mindful movement/yoga practice followed by 20 minutes
of guided discussion around an identified weekly trauma-related theme or skill. Additionally, there’s an optional 15 minute processing space at the end of each group for those who would like to discuss their experiences. Weekly themes are subject to change based on the evolving needs of the group.

Will I have to share personal details or talk about my trauma?

No. You’re never required to share personal experiences, and we won’t be exploring past trauma in this group. To help maintain a safe and supportive space for everyone, we ask participants not to share detailed stories about past trauma during sessions. Instead, the focus is on being present with what you’re feeling in the moment and supporting your body gently.

Do I need to be in individual therapy while participating in this group?

We encourage all group members to be in individual therapy to have a space to process anything that may arise during the group, but it is not required.

Is everything I share confidential?

You’ll receive group norms, which includes that whatever is shared in the group stays
in the group. However, because we can’t guarantee confidentiality, we encourage group members to focus comments on the trauma-related theme or skill discussed in each group rather than sharing personal details.
